Beauty World MRT station is an underground Mass Rapid Transit station on the Downtown Line Stage 2 in Singapore, formerly known as the Bukit Timah Line. The station will serve the Bukit Timah and Upper Bukit Timah corridor, serving the commercial areas in the vicinity. Major buildings in the area include Bukit Timah Shopping Centre, Beauty World Centre, Beauty World Plaza and is near to Toh Yi Estate and Ngee Ann Polytechnic. This project forms part of the overall Downtown Line Stage 2 (DTL2) scheme to link commuters from the Bukit Timah corridor to the North East Line, North South Line and Circle Line, connecting the north western part of Singapore to the Marina Bay area. Design and construction of two MRT tunnels - 1,100 m bored tunnels with an internal diameter of 5.8 m, two cross passages and Temporary Earth Retaining Structural (Strutting) to be carried out over 300m of cut-and-cover tunnels, station box and as well as launching shaft for tunnel boring machine (TBM’s) deep excavation approximately 25m.
